Former Conservative Montgomeryshire MP Delwyn Williams has died at the age of 85.

He lost the seat to Liberal Alex Carlile at the following general election, in 1983.

Also a solicitor and company director, Welsh Conservative President and ex-Montgomeryshire MP Glyn Davies described him as having a “larger than life personality” that was “impossible not to like”.
