Foo Fighters directors transform Caerphilly workmen’s hall

“We want to bring it back to its former glory,” said Emlyn.

They are part of a new community interest company, Cynefin Caerffili, which is hoping to develop the hall.

The Grade II-listed building opened in 1925, paid for by a levy on the workers of Caerphilly, and over the past century has been a major part of life of the community.

Emlyn and Ceri’s “biggest ambition” is to transform the hall into a creative space where “the community can enjoy the arts and entertainment”.

They hope the new cultural hub will inspire others who want to follow them into the creative industries.

“Hopefully people can see the stuff that we work on is for global brands, it is for big bands and music videos,” Emlyn said.

“You can do this sort of work in this area – you don’t have to be in London, New York.

“The world has changed, you can actually do this stuff wherever you want.”
