A fisherman from Peru has been reunited with his family after spending 95 days lost at sea.

Maximo Napa left the seaside town of Marcona on 7 December, intending to be at sea for two weeks.

But, 10 days into his trip stormy weather sent his boat off course.

Mr Napa then ran out of the food he had brought with him, as he went adrift in the Pacific Ocean.

Eventually, an Ecuadorian fishing patrol found Mr Napa 680 miles off the coast and in a critical and dehydrated condition.

Mr Napa told reporters he survived by eating roaches, birds and sea turtles.
