Felixstowe teenager steers one-handed at 80mph in 30 zone

Footage of a man filming himself driving one-handed at 80mph in a 30mph zone has been released by police after he was jailed for causing death by dangerous driving.

Lewis Meadows, 19, of Cliff Road, Felixstowe, was sentenced to four years in prison and banned from driving for seven years after changing his plea to guilty in September.

Mary Kinsey, 74, from Felixstowe, Suffolk, died in November 2024 following a collision on Church Road in the town.

Suffolk Police said although Meadows had not been using his phone at the time of the fatal collision, footage he had recorded of himself at other times showed “a repeated pattern of behaviour behind the wheel”.
