Ernst van Rhyn: Sale Sharks forward sign three-year contract extension

Sale Sharks forward Ernst van Rhyn has signed a three-year contract extension.

The 27-year-old South African was ever-present in the Premiership last season and his deal will now run until the end of the 2028-29 season.

Director of rugby Alex Sanderson told the club website:, external “As a player and a person, Ernie’s boundless work-rate is matched only by the attitude he brings to everything he does and the energy that he gives to everyone around him.

“Off the field he is an incredible leader, not just in how he trains and carries himself, but in his words and the way he speaks to people.”
