Salford Red Devils second-row Emmanuel Waine has been released from hospital three days after being knocked unconscious during their Super League loss to Catalans.

Maria was red-carded for the incident – but despite having only 12 men, Catalans beat Super League’s bottom side 17-16.

“We are pleased to report Emmanuel is back home from hospital and recovering from a collision which forced him from the field in last Thursday’s game,” a Salford statement said., external

“A big thank you to all medical personnel who acted so quickly to provide care on the field.”
