East Belfast: Man charged after sword wielding report

A 38-year-old man has been charged following a report that a man was seen waving a sword at members of the public in east Belfast.

Police were called to the scene just before 18:00 BST on Thursday.

It was reported that there had been an altercation involving four men on Channing Street.

On Friday, the man was charged with possessing an article with a blade or point in a public place.

He is set to appear before Belfast Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 7 November.
