Durham have signed Australian bowler Brendan Doggett to play the early part of the 2025 Championship season.

Doggett will be available in April and May, starting with the match against Warwickshire on 11 April.

The 30-year-old seam bowler, who plays for South Australia and Australia A has taken 155 wickets in 43 first-class matches, with a career-best of 6-15 in October against India A.

“Brendan has been in outstanding form this season for South Australia in the Sheffield Shield and for Australia A,” Durham’s director of cricket Marcus North told the club’s website.

“He is the perfect fit for us to strengthen our strong seam attack in the first few months of the County Championship.”
