The zoo posted thanked the public for their help after thousands of people shared the story of Echo’s departure online.

It said the team retrieved her from the park following a positive sighting from a member of the public.

Barn owls have a distinctive heart-shaped white face, white chest and a mottled grey and golden back and wings.

The zoo wrote: “A huge thank you to the thousands of you who shared her story over the last few days and kept your eyes peeled for our lovely owl – we couldn’t have done it without your help.”
