Dublin: Man charged over attack on off-duty Garda officers

A man has been charged over an attack on two off-duty gardaí (Irish police officers) in Dublin.

One of the off-duty officers, a man in his 40s, was critically injured in the assault at the junction of Dame Street and Eustace Street in the early hours of Saturday.

The other man was taken to hospital, but has since been discharged.

In a statement the Garda said that a man in his 30s arrested over the assault has been charged and is to appear in court on Tuesday.
