San Bernadino County Fire crews rescued a 15-year-old boy trapped between rocks for six hours in Rimrock, California using the light from a drone.

The boy had fallen 30 feet (9.1m) while climbing with his family who had tried to reach him several times unsuccessfully before calling emergency services.

Live video feeds from the drone also “helped ensure a safer and more efficient rescue effort”, San Bernadino County Fire said in a statement on X, adding that the boy went to hospital suffering with hypoxia, hypothermia and dehydration.
