Driver killed after country road crash near Kelso

The car’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the B6397 near Kelso.

The incident happened at around 19:40 on Saturday and involved a black Vauxhall Astra.

Officers said the road was closed for several hours to allow investigations and reopened around nine hours later.

Sgt Jamie Humpage said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the person who has died at this difficult time.

“Inquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.”
