Double-decker bus crashes into railway bridge in Bath

A double-decker bus has crashed into a low-lying railway bridge after trying to pass underneath it.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to the bridge in Lower Bristol Road in Twerton, near Bath, shortly before 20:30 BST on Wednesday.

No one is believed to have been injured in the crash, which involved a vehicle run by operator First Bus.

A structural engineer is due to attend the scene later to assess any damage to the bridge, before vehicle recovery work can be carried out, police said.
