A meeting between Donald Trump and Sir Keir Starmer will dominate the second day of the US president’s state visit.
While the first day of the visit was about pomp and pageantry with the royal family, today will mark the “business end of this trip”, Sky News’ international affairs editor Dominic Waghorn said.
Sir Keir is hoping to keep the focus of the visit to his Chequers country estate on an influx of American investment into the UK. Overnight, he announced the prospect of some £150bn flowing into the UK from big US companies such as Blackstone and Palantir.
However, this afternoon’s joint press conference between the two leaders could prove to be the moment of most jeopardy for ensuring the state visit concludes smoothly, as questions about former US ambassador Lord Peter Mandelson and Mr Trump’s links to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein will likely arise.

Meanwhile, the first lady, Melania Trump, joined the Queen to visit the royal library and view Queen Mary’s doll house – the biggest in the world.
She will then join the Princess of Wales at Frogmore Gardens to meet Dwayne Fields, the Scout Association’s chief scout.
