Dogs dive into Penzance’s art deco lido for annual swim

Dogs soaked up the autumn sunshine while taking to the water at an event held ahead of the annual deep clean of a swimming lido.

The dog day, now in its eighth year, was held at the art deco Jubilee Pool in Penzance on Sunday.

Organisers said most dogs were quick to jump in, while others needed a bit of coaxing from their wetsuit-clad owners.

Penzance Council said it had been a long-term supporter of the pool as a community facility and had allocated £40,000 of funding for this financial year to help with the costs of winter maintenance and subsidising entry for locals.
