Motorists are being warned to expect delays after a lorry caught fire on a slip road on the M1.

Two fire engines and a water carrier were called to the blaze on the slip road from Trowell Services, near Trowell in Nottinghamshire, on to a northbound stretch of carriageway between junctions 25 and 26 at about 16:08 BST on Tuesday.

The northbound side of the motorway was initially closed, but two of the four lanes have since reopened.

At 18:29, National Highways said the slip road had also reopened but warned drivers to still expect delays of about 60 minutes on the approach.
