David Moffett: Ex-WRU chief executive resigns from Scarlets backers

HoL had agreed a deal that would see it acquire a 55% stake in the Scarlets. No further information has been released since the initial announcement and a search of Companies House shows no recent changes to its board.

Moffett was WRU chief executive in 2003 when he drove the process that led to Welsh rugby’s regional era, beginning with five teams.

The governing body now wants to cut that number to two with the board expected to make a decision by the end of the month.
