Four sessions are taking place as part of the programme, with the same group of 20 participants returning to the palace for each one.
Amy Stocker, from the Royal Collection Trust said the sense of recognition can make the palace particularly meaningful.
“They recognise the building as an iconic landmark. They might have been at the front of the palace to watch the royal family appear on the balcony.
“People have a connection to his majesty the King, they remember Queen Elizabeth.
“For the older generation there is a connection to the monarchy and that often sparks something when you bring them to a place like this.”
