Gloucestershire have re-signed seam bowler Craig Miles from Warwickshire on a three-year deal which will begin at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old will play out the remainder of his contract with the Bears before linking up with his new club on 1 November.

Miles’ standout season for Warwickshire came in 2021 when he took 37 wickets at an average of 21.81 to help the Bears win the County Championship title.

He then took 5-28 against Lancashire at Lord’s to help secure the Bob Willis Trophy and complete a league and cup double that year.

He is yet to feature for Warwickshire in the County Championship this season but has appeared six matches in the T20 Blast, taking five wickets.

Miles spent eight seasons with Gloucestershire, before his move to Edgbaston in 2019, and will have the chance to add to his 313 wickets for the county.

“I’m absolutely buzzing to be coming back to Gloucestershire,” Swindon-born Miles told the club website., external

“The chance to wear the shirt again and represent the club that played such a massive part in my journey was something I simply couldn’t turn down.”

Head Coach Mark Alleyne added: “I very much look forward to welcoming Craig back to Bristol.

“He left as a precocious talent and returns with a strong body of work on the first-class stage. As an all-format player, he will add great quality across the seasons to come.”
