A man has been arrested following the death of a man in his 60s at a hotel in County Laois in the Republic of Ireland.

Gardaí (Irish police) said they were called to the hotel shortly before 20:00 local time on Tuesday.

Irish broadcaster RTÉ has reported that the property is a Ballyfin Demense, external, a five-star hotel set in a 614-acre estate near the Slieve Bloom mountains.
