County Durham village struck by tornado

This is the moment a tornado tore through a village in County Durham.

Fences were downed, windows smashed and tiles blown off roofs in Eldon, near Bishop Auckland.

The extreme weather event was caught on a home CCTV system as it passed through at 15:00 BST on Saturday.

Residents are now counting the cost of the damage caused by the high winds, which is estimated at several thousand pounds.
