County Clare: Infant boy dies in road traffic incident

A one-year-old boy has died after a road traffic incident in County Clare.

Gardaí (Irish Police) said it happened on the Quin Road near Ennis at about 12:30 local time on Wednesday.

The boy was transferred from the scene to University Hospital Limerick but died as a result of his injuries.

The scene is currently preserved pending an examination by Forensic Collision Investigators.

A garda family liason officer has been appointed to support and assist the family.
