Highland councillors are being asked to approve the construction of a major housing development in Skye.
Lochalsh and Skye Housing Association has proposed 248 new homes in the island’s most populated area, Portree.
The mixed use development is planned for Sraid An Eorna, with a requirement that at least 25% of the houses are affordable homes.
Other requirements include developer contributions to enhance community facilities and towards the provision of the Portree Link Road.
The plans were previously considered in 2022, and the development would be carried out in phases over a 15 to 20 year period, with a shop, business units and a care village also to be constructed.
Meanwhile, councillors will also be asked to give the go ahead to the construction of more than 30 homes in Dingwall.
The proposal from Higland Council would deliver five houses, alongside 28 cottage flats and a bungalow.
The new properties would be built within the town’s Mieklefield development, with the existing housing stock demolished.
Highland Council’s north planning applications committee will discuss both proposals on Wednesday.
