Cornwall rail line blocked after car ended up on tracks

A railway line was blocked after a motorist “lost control” of their car and ended up on the tracks.

Great Western Railway (GWR) said the line between St Erth and St Ives, in Cornwall, was blocked after the car ended up on the tracks in the Carbis Bay area.

Network Rail said the car had since been removed and services resumed.

British Transport Police said no-one was injured.

It added officers were called at about 02:00 BST on Friday.
