Cork: Paula Canty murder investigation launched

A murder investigation has been launched into the death of a woman in County Cork, gardaí (Irish police) have said.

The woman’s body were discovered at a residential property on Bridewell Lane in Mallow on Friday.

She has been named locally as 31-year-old Paula Canty, originally from Kinsale, and it is understood she had been stabbed in the chest, according to Irish broadcaster RTÉ.

The results of post-mortem examination conducted by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margot Bolster, have been released to the investigating team.
