Corie Mapp claims gold and silver in opening Para-bobsleigh events

Great Britain’s Corie Mapp finished first and second in the opening two World Cup Para-bobsleigh events in Norway.

Mapp finished top in both of his heats on Friday with times of 55.59 seconds and 55.83s to claim gold in Lillehammer in the first race.

And in the second on Saturday, he recorded 55.82secs and 56.21secs as he finished with a silver behind winner Flavio Menardi, of Italy.

Mapp claimed the overall World Cup title in last season’s Para-bobsleigh.
