Corby scooter champ ‘battles’ to win third world title in a row

A scooter champion who has won a world title for the third year running said his latest triumph came after an “absolute battle”.

Jayden Sharman, 22, started riding when he was six and moved to Corby in 2020 so he could train at Adrenaline Alley in the Northamptonshire town.

Sharman, who recently suffered an ankle injury, fell in the first round but then landed a “near-perfect” run in Sunday’s final round at the Scootering World Championships in Paraguay, said the team at Adrenaline Alley.

Sharman said he would “never be able to put into words” his success at completing the hat-trick, which followed similar successes in 2024 and 2025.

Adrenaline Alley, where he is head scooter coach, was founded in 2002 by Mandy Young and her son John Chard-Young.

It said: “After falling on his opening run, the pressure was on: he had one final opportunity to defend his crown.

“He responded with a jaw-dropping performance, landing a near-perfect run that propelled him to the top of the leaderboard and secured his third successive world title.”
