PSNI Det Insp Hanbidge said “five people, including three children, were present” at the property on the Lisnablagh Road.
A three-year-old child was in bed at the time of the shooting.
“They, along with the other children and adults present in the house, could have been seriously injured as a result of this attack,” Hanbridge said.
An adult and a child were inside the home which was attacked on Silverthorn Avenue.
Hanbridge said: “Again, thankfully no injuries were reported, however, this could also have ended very differently.”
Police have appealed to anyone who has any information relevant to their investigation to contact them.
