‘Clearing gave me crucial time to think about my future’

Ms Chivu said that she had loved her course, the university staff and had made some great friends.

She added that young people were expected to pick their future careers for the rest of their lives at an inexperienced age.

“There can be a stigma about applying through clearing – people thinking students are disinterested or less hard-working,” she said.

“But it’s absolutely 100% false and don’t be discouraged to apply.”

After graduating in July with a Bachelors degree, Ms Chivu said she was excited to enter the world of work.
