Conservative MP Chris Philp has explained a sticky moment when he appeared on Question Time on Thursday.
He was asked a question by an audience member from the Democratic Republic of Congo and responded by asking if “[DR] Congo is a different country to Rwanda, isn’t it?”
Appearing on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg Mr Philp said he had had difficulty hearing the original question and had posed a rhetorical question.
