Former Great Britain and England prop Chris Hill has announced he will retire at the end of the season.

The 37-year-old joined Bradford Bulls in the Championship from ailing Salford last month.

The Bulls travel to Toulouse in the second tier play-off semi-final on Sunday and defeat would mean the end of Hill’s lengthy career.

“After 20 seasons in professional rugby league, I’ve made the decision that 2025 will be my last,” he told Bradford Bulls’ website.

“From starting out at Leigh as a teenager, to representing my country on the world stage, I’ve given everything to this game and it’s given even more back to me.”

After seven seasons with Leigh, Hill joined Warrington for the 2012 season and spent the following nine years with the Wire, winning two Challenge Cups.

His impressive club form saw him called up to represent his country and he played at both the 2013 and 2017 World Cups.

He moved on to Huddersfield in 2022 and made his 500th career appearance in April of that year.

After two seasons with the Giants he joined Salford on a one-year deal for 2025 but cut it short to join the Bulls in August amid the Red Devils ongoing financial difficulties.
