Chippenham MP admitted to intensive care after suffering serious health issue

An MP is “scaling back” her workload after spending Christmas in intensive care, it has emerged.

Sarah Gibson, the Liberal Democrat MP for Chippenham, is recovering at her Wiltshire home after five days in the intensive care unit at the Royal United Hospital (RUH) in Bath, Somerset.

The reason for her hospital visit has not been confirmed, but she said in a statement that she had suffered a serious health issue.

“My dedicated team will be handling correspondence, casework, and urgent issues on my behalf,” she added.
