Child psychiatric care ‘was more like abuse’

Young women have been telling their stories of years spent on a Scottish adolescent psychiatric ward.

Skye House, in Glasgow, is a place supposed to make them better, but which they say failed them and left them traumatised.

One of the women, Stephanie, told BBC Scotland: “The nurses were more abusive than caring.”

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said it was “incredibly sorry” and has launched two inquiries into the allegations uncovered by the BBC’s investigation.

You can watch Disclosure: Kids on the Psychiatric Ward at 20:00 on BBC One Scotland on Monday and afterwards on the iPlayer.
