Cheltenham baby in critical condition after dog attack

A baby girl is in a critical condition in hospital after being bitten by a dog at home.

The girl sustained serious injuries in the incident in the Hatherley area of Cheltenham just before 18:00 BST on Sunday.

She was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and later transferred to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, where she remains.

Gloucestershire Police said the pet dog – which is not a banned breed – has been seized by officers.
