Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Valentino bags could fetch £40k at auction

Most wardrobe clear-outs involve bin bags and a trip to the charity shop, but one East Yorkshire resident is expected to net tens of thousands of pounds from hers.

The woman, from Beverley, will auction items from her private collection on Friday including 20 designer bags, as well as shoes, scarves, sunglasses and other luxury goods.

The items, from designers including Chanel and Gucci, could fetch up to £40,000 according to the guide prices.

Coralie Thomson, from auctioneers David Duggleby, said: “It is an absolutely stunning luxury fashion auction. Ninety per cent of the items have never been worn because the vendor – who has an even bigger collection – simply never got round to them.”
