Goole Vikings stunned former finalists London Broncos 17-10 in their first competitive game to reach the Challenge Cup third round.

The newly-ordained League One team snatched victory through Mackenzie Harman’s try 10 minutes from time to complete a comeback from 10-0 down.

Tom Halliday scored Goole’s first-ever competitive try before Tom Minns levelled in the second half.

Tries from Connor O’Beirne and Sadiq Adebiyi had put the Broncos – who spent last season in the Super League – in full control.

But Reece Dean’s drop goal added the cherry on the cake of an incredible game, ahead of their first season in competition.

It was a chastening afternoon for London in the end, who had just 12 contracted players available for the match at The Rock Stadium.

Goole, coached by former Wigan and Hull FC man Scott Taylor, have been rewarded with a tie at home to top flight side Wakefield next, with the heavyweights arriving in the competition.

They join three other amateur sides in facing Super League sides. London-based and Southern Conference League side Wests Warriors face Leeds Rhinos, West Hull meet St Helens, and York Acorn take on Hull FC.

The Warriors beat the British Army 36-18, West Hull edged to victory away at Hunslet ARLFC 24-18 while the Acorns thrashed Oulton Raiders 22-2.

There were also wins for Dewsbury Rams in beating Dewsbury Moor 50-6, Hunslet RLFC who overcame Lock Lane 50-10, while Featherstone Rovers thrashed Waterhead Warriors 88-10 and Whitehaven won 24-12 against Swinton Lions.
