Cash machine left in wheelie bin after Kilbarchan shop break-in

A cash machine has been left in a wheelie bin after a break in at a shop in Renfrewshire.

The machine was taken from the Day-Today convenience store on Tandlehill Road in Kilbarchan, BBC Scotland News understands.

Police Scotland said officers were called out to a report of a break-in at 04:15.

The green wheelie bin was left nearby on Milliken Park Road, with the cash machine wedged inside.

It was covered with silver sheets and wrapped in police tape while officers remained at the scene on Friday morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said that inquiries were ongoing.
