Cardiff search for wing on short-term deal after Millard injury

Wales back Grady is struggling to make the start of the Six Nations with a fractured ankle, Cabango is recovering from a serious hamstring problem and Stephens is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury in training.

Cardiff have Josh Adams, Gabriel Hamer-Webb and 18-year-old Tom Bowen as wing options for the festive derbies against Dragons and Ospreys and remaining European Challenge Cup matches against Perpignan and Connacht next month.

Adams scored two tries in his player-of-the-match performance during the 26-10 win Challenge Cup against South African side Cheetahs, while Bowen impressed with a score on his debut.

“We’re pretty bashed up in a couple of positions,” said Sherratt.

“It always seems the way, that you get two or three in a couple of positions.

“Harri has done his MCL (medial collateral ligament). We don’t have an exact date on that. It’s probably going to be a couple of months.

“So we probably need a bit of cover around wing. We’ve got Gabe, Josh and Tom so we’ve got enough to get by but we could do with strengthening that area.”
