An 18-year-old man has been charged with murder after a 38-year-old woman who was injured in a crash last month died.

Emergency services were called to Heol Trelai, Caerau in Cardiff, at about 00:30 BST on 27 September after a driver collided with three pedestrians.

Shelley Davies, 38, from Caerau, was injured during the incident and died at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, on Saturday, police said.

The 18-year-old man will appear in Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Following the crash, the 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He was on bail pending further enquiries but has now been re-arrested and charged with the murder of Ms Davies and with causing grievous bodily harm in relation to a second victim.
