The Great Orme is a limestone headland on the north coast of Wales, rising up to 207m (679 feet) above sea level.
It features sheer cliffs that drop dramatically straight into the Irish Sea.
It is a tourist attraction, with a Victorian tramway, a cableway, walking routes and a mining museum.
Llandudno’s Marine Drive, the site of the crash, is a five-mile toll road looping around the base of the Great Orme.
While primarily a tourist route, it is famous for hosting competitive speed tests during major motorsport events like the Cambrian Rally and the Tour Britannia Rally.
