Cammy Devlin: Rangers sign midfielder after Hearts departure

Cammy Devlin has joined Rangers under freedom of contract after leaving Hearts.

The Australia midfielder, 28, spent five years at Tynecastle, making 171 appearances and scoring eight times.

He has been capped five times by his country and was part of their World Cup squad this summer.

Devlin is the third significant arrival at Ibrox from Hearts this summer.

Striker Lawrence Shankland joined Rangers prior to representing Scotland at the World Cup and Derek McInnes was appointed manager in Glasgow after Danny Rohl left for RB Salzburg.

“It is just an absolute honour and privilege,” Devlin said after penning a two-year deal, with the option for an additional 12 months.

“With the gaffer coming here and a lot of change happening at the club, it feels like a great time to be coming here.

“I am so aware, being in Scotland for a while now, the size of the club and everything that comes with playing at such a massive football club.

“To call myself a Rangers player now feels pretty special and I just cannot wait to get started.”
