Kitty, 16, said finding a social media influencer who stammers made her feel more comfortable about her own voice
Jessie Yendle spent years growing her self-confidence with a stammer by doing videos on TikTok, where she now has 3.5 million followers.
“I’m emotional that you feel that way,” she replies to Kitty when the pair meet in a café.
“Growing up I had these dreams and I never thought I’d be able to achieve my dreams because of my speech.”
Ms Yendle is calling for the introduction of a universal symbol that would help the UK’s estimated 450,000 people with speech impediments.
