Saggs added: “To have complaints on that, I just think it’s absurd”.

Susan Coleman, whose grandchildren play on the grassy area, said the complaint was “totally pathetic, because how are you supposed to get your children in if you don’t shout them?”

“Kids are always out here, which is nice – better than sitting indoors on the computers,” she added.

Rick Gay said his partner’s children were always playing in the neighbourhood and it was “absolutely ridiculous” for someone to complain about shouting them in.

“You’re entitled to shout your children in. It’s probably only at teatime if you do hear them,” he said.

“Whoever’s complained needs a head wobble.”

Nsernesta Jerumbauskaite, who was teaching her daughter to ride a bicycle, said: “There shouldn’t be a complaint about this noise. It’s in the evening. It’s not late.”

“I don’t think it makes any disruption,” she added.
