Boy and woman still in custody in Sandown murder probe

Police have been given extra time to question a 14-year-old boy and a woman who were arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man on the Isle of Wight.

Police said officers were called by ambulance crews to a report of a stabbing at a house in Downsview, Sandown, at about 19:10 BST on Thursday.

A man in his 50s with serious injuries died later in hospital.

The woman, aged 47, and boy were also arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. Hampshire Police was granted warrants of further detention on Saturday, allowing officers to keep them in custody for another 36 hours.
