Boy, 15, not guilty of murder after fatal stabbing in Ewell

A 15-year-old boy has been found not guilty of murder after the fatal stabbing of a 23-year-old man in Surrey.

Alfonso Sibley, known as Alfie, died after being found with stab injuries in an alleyway next to the Wheatsheaf pub on Kingston Road in Ewell, at about 15:30 GMT on 9 December 2025.

Following a four-week trial at Kingston Crown Court, the 15-year-old was cleared of murder, manslaughter and conspiracy to commit robbery on Monday.

Two other boys, aged 15 and 17, were also found not guilty of conspiracy to commit robbery. None of the defendants could be named due to their age.

Emergency services, pub staff and members of the public attempted to help Sibley when he was found but he died at the scene, Surrey Police said.

The three teenage boys were charged in the weeks following his death.

The first 15-year-old was charged with murder and conspiracy to commit robbery on 14 December.

The second 15-year-old and the 17-year-old were later charged with conspiracy to commit robbery in February.
