A 14-year-old boy has suffered “life-threatening injuries” after a quad bike he was riding crashed in Eglinton, County Londonderry.

The police said they received a report of a one-vehicle crash on the Ballygudden Road shortly before 11:30 BST on Tuesday.

The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment for what police have described as life-threatening injuries.

The Ballygudden Road, which was closed for a time, has since reopened.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision, or has dash-cam footage of it, to contact police.
