A body has been found in the search for 11-year-old Kaliyah Coa, who entered the River Thames in North Woolwich on 31 March, the Metropolitan Police has said.

The body is yet to be formally identified, the force added, but Kaliyah’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The Met said it was alerted to a body found in the river in Maritime Quay near the Isle of Dogs in east London, at about 09:00 BST on Sunday.
