BBC Middle East correspondent Lina Sinjab reports from Damascus, Syria showing the damaged Ministry of Defence headquarters following airstrikes by Israeli forces on Wednesday.

Israel’s military struck ministry in Damascus and government forces in southern Syria for a third day on Wednesday, as deadly sectarian fighting in the mostly Druze province of Suweida continued.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was “working to save our Druze brothers”. Interim Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa accused Israel of causing a “large-scale escalation”.
