The BBC’s Will Grant sat down with former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, who was pardoned by US President Donald Trump in December.

In March 2024, Hernández was convicted of drug trafficking and weapons offences and sentenced to 45 years in prison before Trump granted him a pardon, posting to Truth Social that Hernández had been “treated very harshly and unfairly”. During the interview, Hernández continued to claim his innocence and addressed his brother’s drug trafficking charges.
