Ballon d’Or winner Rodri ‘perfectly represents City and Spanish football’, says Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says “If they [Real Madrid] want to go, it’s fine; if they don’t, it’s fine as well” – after Real were absent from the Ballon d’Or ceremony following rumours their forward Vinicius Jr had not won the award.

Guardiola added that Rodri, who won the men’s award, “perfectly represents City, but also Spanish football and their influence in world football”.
